IRONWOOD STYLED SHOOT
Jenny grew up here in the South. Since she was a little girl she’d dreamed of the perfect Southern, spring wedding with all the details to go with it. The red bud & cherry blossom trees just beginning to pop, the buttercups standing tall with their beautiful yellow blooms & the first smell of fresh cut grass lingering in the air. She prayed for a beautiful day for her outdoor ceremony. She envisioned a sweethearts table with white linens billowing in the wind & her grandma’s China placed perfectly for her & the groom she’d one day meet.
Jenny met Mark while in college & immediately fell in love. She had watched Mark from across the quad for days secretly hoping he’d look her way but not quite sure what she would do when he did. It was a brisk fall day when her wish came true & he caught her watching him as he crossed the quad. He gave a big smile & her with her small grin quickly looked away being the shy girl that she was. Her face plastered to the book praying he didn’t think anything of her looking at him when she heard a deep, “Hello there!”
Mark had never really given any thought to who he’d one day marry. I mean, he was perfectly happy never getting married. He wasn’t from this area & well wasn’t a huge fan of all the polite, perfect southern-ness he was experiencing. However, that long haired, brunette cutie he’d seen the last couple weeks out on the quad does intrigue him. Even if she is one of those polite, perfect southern girls. Just bite the bullet dude & speak to her! Today’s the day!
As Mark approached Jenny his palms suddenly became sweaty. She’s was even prettier up close than what she was from across the quad. “Dear God, please don’t let my voice crack or sound dumb,” he thought. Quick breathe check & from deep down he musters the courage, “Hello there,” he says.
Jenny looks up from her studies with a little smile that nearly took Mark’s breathe away. “Hello,” she says quietly.
“It sure is a cool day isn’t it,” Mark asked.
“Um-huh,” Jenny mumbled.
“My name is Mark,” as he extends his super sweaty palm & prayed she doesn’t notice.
“Hi, I’m Jenny,” she said as she took his hand.
Whoa! What was that, Jenny thought? That shock! What’s that tingle! Did he do that? Did he feel that?
Dang! That was one heck of a shock she put off, Mark thought. That has never happened to me before. What was that?
